I came across this error in Webi some time ago and it took me quite some time to diagnose it. While the arguments where all correct and I was properly using the double quotation surrounding each order IDs the error still continued. I am replicating the same error using doctored data.
The formula shown below takes a list of predetermined Order ID’s and indicates them as delivered while other Order ID’s not in that list will be identified as orders which were “Not Delivered”. =If[OrderID] InList("4977449";"5063172";"4666504";"4965819";"4332269";"1775703";"3398438";"3650018";"3276313"; "3195937";"2188725";"1627393";"1372922";"1558321";"2975021";"2651805";"3900983";"1365625"; "4187763";"4166584" ); “Delivered“; “Not Delivered“) When I create a dimension in my Webi report and input the formula above, I arrive at the error below:
Everything seems to be correct and double quotations are used to identify the outcome of the IF statement. After doing some investigation I came to realize that this error is due to the format of the double quotations surrounding the words delivered and Not Delivered. I had initially written these variables in MS Word and then pasted into my Webi report and the format of double quotations is different in the two platforms as shown below:
As you could see there are minute differences between the two and that was what was causing this error. Here is the outcome after entering the correct double quotation as recognized by WEBI.
